Lord Howe Island scenery enhancement package for FS2004(FS9)

Acknowledgements:
As always I'd like to start off with this section first seeing as though it would be pointless writing the rest of this file if it wasn't for these gentlemen!
First of all many thanks to a few people for which this project would not have been possible:
*Pascal Meziat, Tom Hiscox, Brian McWilliams and Manfred Moldenhauer for Airport for Windows 3.0 and Scasm
*Lee Swordy for his brilliant program AFCAD v2.21 and Ttools v2.02
*Christian Fumey for his easy to use program Ground2K4
*Full credit must go to Rolf Kiebel and John Applegate for their immaculate rendered mesh terrain of Lord Howe which was incidently designed for CFS2
*Louis Sinclair and Abacus for FSDSv2
*Russel Dirks for his effortless and simple to use EZ-Landclass v2.0
Macros: *Jorge Pagano-wooden dock and wooden boxes (next to fuel tank at airport)
*Leon Louis-2 bikini clad women on beach at end of runway 28 and the seaplane and the Catalina (from the original authors Bill Lyons, Kanata Designs Bob Tremblay, Harry Follas, Barry Blaisdell and Jerry Arzdorf) which were converted from FS98 with Trevor de Stigters MDL--> BGL program
*Alan Blencowe-cemeterys and WoodwallV1 texture I used
*Frank Betts-wooden pallets by the dock and the airport terminal
*Tom Fica-red oil barrels and the zodiac outboard boat on beach at end of runway 28

PLEASE NOTE: I have modelled this scenery around Rolf Kiebel and John Applegates mesh (of which I have included) and not that of Andy Weirs Australian mesh simply because I had already started this project before Andys work was available and I actually don't find his as realistic as Rolf and Johns.

I've done a fair bit of research into this-an excellent book I picked up from an Australian Geographic shop by Ian Hutton gave me most of the info which also included a fairly well detailed map. A trip to Lord Howe was definitely out of the question with work and all not to mention the distance from the Gold Coast so the book was a saviour as well as the net from which I gathered info from the Bureau of Meteorology web site and other related sites on Lord Howe.

Lord Howe Island lies off the New South Wales, Australia central coast, 550km due east of Port Macquarie and approximately 700km north east of Sydney.
The island accommodates no more than 393 tourists at a time with a permanent resident count of about 330.
Qantaslink operate daily flights using Dash 8's from Sydney to the islands short 2907ft runway which takes about 2 hours each way.

What's been done?:
· The most obvious difference by default standards is the mesh elevation. 95% would be Rolf Kiebel and John Applegates work while there is a few other places that I did myself.
· Now the coastline is 99% accurate my map standards with the exception of the edge of the south eastern cliffs where the original coastline would have gone under the cliffs so I have remoulded the coastline to the base of those cliffs which actually gives it a more realistic view of that part of the island.
· Reshaped the airport apron very slightly.
· I've added the islands entire road network and revamped the land and waterclass.
· Have added ATC to the island which isn't present in real life.
· I have tried to simulate the outer edges of a reef with waves crashing over it on the west and on the east spray from waves crashing on to the rocks.
· The Bureau of Meteorology weather station has been custom made.
· If you look hard enough you will find the wreckage of a RAAF Catalina flying boat on the southern slopes of the northern mountains which crashed here on the 28th September 1948 killing 7 men.
· There are numerous amounts of eye candy around.

Installation:
1. If you are reading this document then you have already done the first part right which is unzipping this file.
2. Upon having opened the zip file you should find within:
-4 folders
-5 JPEG files and
-read me 1st word document or
-read me 1st text document
3. Place the 4 folders- Lord Howe Island Airport, Lord Howe Island Coastline, Lord Howe Island Mesh and Lord Howe Island water and landclass in your addon scenery folder within FS2004.
4. Now open FS2004 and go to settings/scenery library/add area. Open the addon scenery folder. There inside you should see the 4 files from step 3. Place the mouse cursor over the top of each of these one at a time and they should appear in the scenery area title box. Click OK and you're done. You will have to restart FS2004 for these to become active.

This package was tested on Win ME
GeForce2 GTS 64mb
AMD Duron 850 mhz
192 mb ram
20 Gb hard drive

You will need the following textures: APT 210, ASD21, VOD tex30, NOVA and NOVA GOLD TEXTURES in your FS2004 main texture folder for this scenery to show correctly. These can be downloaded from most major flight simulator web sites.

Known Issues:
If you happen to vear off the runway onto the grass you will notice a drop of about 1ft. This I think is all to do with the amount of different conflicting software. I've tried dropping the runway using Afcad but then it totally disappears.
Because I have never been there and only basically had pictures to look at, not everything will be exactly the way it is in real life so please don't pick on me.

Legal stuff, Copyright and distribution.
DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT even attempt to make money off this scenery. Not only would I be jacked off but I think mostly the people whose files I have used in this package would be jacked off. YOU KNOW THE STORY!
This scenery is to be used at your own risk. If anything should happen-which it won't-to your computer, I accept no responsibility whatsoever. Sorry.that's the way it goes.
Feel free to make modifications on your own computer to this package, but you are strictly prohibited to upload those modifications.

If you have any questions that need to be answered I will do my best. Drop me a line at
